Please come to Boston… At least to Copley Square

Located between Boston and Cambridge is Boston’s Back Bay, a neighborhood rich in both historical facts and architecture, known best for harmonious rows of handsome three- and four story residential brownstones. The National Register of Historic Places considers it one of the best-preserved examples of 19th-century urban architecture in the United States.

Within the Back Bay, you’ll find Copley Square, anchored by the modern John Hancock building, nearby Boston Public Library and Trinity Church. Newbury Street is the “Rodeo Drive of the East”. Although it began under water as a part of Boston Harbor, nowadays you can stroll along broad sidewalks and peruse stores such as Hermes’, Gucci, Ermenegildo Zegna and other high-end fashion retailers and dining establishments. If shopping doesn’t suit you, there are plenty of benches, so grab a cup of joe and do some people watching!

Combining business with pleasure…Since Boston is a mecca for conventions and meetings means there are a few good hotels in Copley Square and fine dining within walking distance. Notable for its historic charm is The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. A historic landmark conveniently located, but not quite comparable in service to the Boston Ritz, Taj or Mandarin.

The ‘Gnocchi’ is to die for, the service impeccable and the wine list will not disappoint. The atmosphere is modern and elegant, but warm and inviting. As their website states, “…It’s a true feast for the senses.” For a more casual meal with a great city view, try the second floor of Post 390 (post390restaurant.com). The warm bread is delightful and the wine list is nice. If you’re in the mood for a classic American steakhouse, then reserve a table at Grill 23, (grill23.com) where you’ll find all-natural meats from Brandt Beef in California, dayboat seafood and local produce from sustainable farms. Downstairs dining recommended where colorful artwork highlighted by picture lights adorn handsome mahogany stained woodwork for a peaceful relaxed atmosphere. So if your curiosity is piqued, what type of real estate will $1 million buy you in Boston’s Back Bay? The answer… A one or two bedroom condo with about 1100 sf of living space and no parking.
