Luxury Real Estate News: Global
Mr. Dyson, a British billionaire who invented the bagless vacuum cleaner and founded the recognizable appliance brand, and his wife, Lady Dierdre Dyson, bagged themselves a lofty luxury condo, according to a title transfer filed with the Singapore Land Authority dated June 20.
It is said to be Singapore's tallest tower. The condo spans across the top three floors of the Tanjong Pagar Centre, the so called 'super penthouse' is the highest residence in Singapore, with a sky-high asking price to match. It hit the luxury market in 2017 for US $79.5 million.
The Dysons reportedly paid S$73.8 million, (approx $54.2 million US dollars) nearly one-third less than the building’s developer, GuocoLand, originally wanted for the home, according to Singapore’s Business Times, which first reported the deal.
At 21,000 square feet, it’s more than five times as big as the other penthouses in the building, according to the information on the developer’s website.
It starts on the 62nd floor, which encompasses five bedrooms, including the sprawling master suite and “junior master” bedrooms, as well as private garden and dramatic viewing deck, according to a brochure from GuocoLand. There is also a 600-bottle wine room, private pool and cabana.
Mr. Dyson’s purchase follows an announcement that his company plans to relocate to the city-state from the U.K.. He will join roughly 24 other billionaires who call the financial center home, according to data from Savills. This article originally appeared in Mansion Global.
